Léah McVeagh

Léah is not only known as an accomplished producer in both live action and animation projects, she is also a writer/director of whimsical, yet thought-provoking films, web series and music videos. She loves working with her friends at Angle3 Pictures, and helping diverse peoples share their unique perspectives. Having come from an immigrant background, born in South Africa and raised in small town New Zealand, Léah aims is to bring her life experience to build understanding between different peoples, cultures, and faiths through her films.

In 2022, Dame Gaylene Preston gave Léah the Best Female Director Award for her 48 Hour Film Festival Grand Finalist Short Film, Parked. Previous films she’s produced have been officially selected in local festivals (Coloured; Show Me Shorts 2013 and Smoke; Arohanui Film Festival 2017) and placed highly in the 48 Hour Film Festival and My Rode Reel Competitions.
